M&G

M&G is Prudential's UK and European fund management business with total assets under management of £169 billion (at 30 September 2009) and around 350,000 direct customers.

M&G has been investing money for individual and institutional clients for nearly 80 years. Today it is one of the largest investors in the UK stock market, as well as being a powerhouse in fixed income. PRUPIM, its commercial property arm, is one of the largest landlords in the UK.

An investment-led business, M&G manages the assets of Prudential in the UK and Europe, as well as funds for third-party clients. The third-party fund business now accounts for about 40% of the group's total funds under management.

Our businesses are performance-driven - 38% of M&G's retail funds are top-quartile performers over the past three years. The Institutional business concentrates mainly on fixed income, pioneering strategies for the Prudential life fund and then marketing them to third-party clients such as pension funds and local authorities.
